2023 Achievements

Global Leader in Endoscopy Education, Training and Research

Increased focus on educating members in new technology and techniques, particularly AI
Expanded educational offerings and stimulated endoscopic research
Leveraged ASGE’s family of scientific publications on endoscopic diagnostics and therapeutics

Serving Various GI Communities

Offered comprehensive educational resources, including hands-on teaching and on-demand learning
Developed educational programs and partnerships internationally: India, Peru, Chile and South Africa
Expanded offerings to the entire GI team, particularly GI techs and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Built and enhanced curricula/pathways for each year of fellowship training

Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Outreach to underrepresented medical students and high school students
Increased diversity in committees, faculty composition and Foundation board
Multi-year project to promote follow-up screening colonoscopyin underserved communities
New position papers on issues to advance women in GI and advanced LGBTQ+ issues in GI care and the profession
Launched an annual Elevate Retreat for underrepresented physicians in early career

Advocacy

Leading the charge on reducing the carbon footprint in health care
Prioritizing issues in prior authorization and anesthesia coverage
